About Me
Mrs Tamika Rokita
Tamika Rokita began dancing at the age of five in Cheltenham and trained with prestigious associate programmes including The Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst Ballet School, and Cecchetti Associates. At 11, she earned a scholarship to the Legat School of Dance, where she trained full-time until 18, studying ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre, and repertoire.
She later completed a Foundation Degree at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2015, further developing her artistic and technical skills. Alongside her training, Tamika discovered a passion for teaching and has worked with dancers of all ages across a variety of styles, including ballet, contemporary, modern, musical theatre, singing, and competition work. She takes pride not only in her students' achievements but also in the confidence and enjoyment they gain through dance.
As a mother of two daughters, Tamika is passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their potential. She is currently working towards her ISTD Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) in Ballet and Modern. In March 2026, Tamika founded Rokita School of Dance with the vision of creating a welcoming dance community where students can develop confidence, creativity, friendships, and a lifelong love of dance.
